Prioritizing data protection: A 60-day post-acquisition update
It’s been 60 days since we shared the news of our acquisition of Axcient™, a ConnectWise company, and SkyKick™, a ConnectWise company, and we’ve been working feverishly behind the scenes on the integration of our teams.
We want to remain transparent with the managed service provider (MSP) community on our progress and maintain our commitments on our path to becoming the MSP market leader for data protection. Here’s a quick update on a few of them.
Listening and learning
We’ve spent the last 60 days listening carefully. We’ve hosted town halls and webinars, and we’ve listened and interacted with many of you online and in person at events such as IT Nation Connect™ and MSP Xperience Summit.
The consensus is that many of you are cautiously optimistic.
While some initial concerns were raised about potential changes to pricing, support, or product integration, the overall sentiment is positive. The majority of MSPs recognize the potential benefits of this acquisition, such as expanded service offerings and enhanced technology capabilities. The combination of industry expertise from ConnectWise and innovative solutions provided by Axcient and SkyKick creates exciting opportunities to deliver even greater value to your clients.
Accelerating product innovation with ConnectWise Backup360
ConnectWise Backup360™ enables MSPs to easily view and monitor the details of their protected systems and all the associated health status information. This gives you a simple way to manage different types of environments, which is made possible by integrations with industry leaders such as Veeam, Acronis, and Axcient.
Deepening integration with Axcient x360 platform and ConnectWise Asio
We’re keeping our promise to deepen the integration with ConnectWise by starting with extending our platform integrations. The ConnectWise Asio platform is already integrated with Axcient’s x360Recover, and we have now added support for x360Cloud. We are also focused on expanding the capabilities of the Axcient x360 platform and the Asio platform integration to take advantage of AI, workflow, additional operating systems, and devices such as NAS and BDR appliances. With a deeper integration, MSPs will be able to do more with their BCDR, which reduces the need to bounce between tools in their tech stack and automates manual time spent by their techs and engineers.
Commitment to an open ecosystem
In addition to maintaining our strong ecosystem partnerships, we’re expanding our work with Microsoft and Pax8. We’ve participated deeply in Pax8 Beyond in Denver and Berlin in 2024 and have worked with leadership to ensure that partners who prefer to consume Axcient and SkyKick may do so through that partnership. The Microsoft subject matter experts (SMEs) at SkyKick continue to be strong resources for aligned cloud data protection of Microsoft 365 and Azure.
Conclusion
To sum up the first 60 days of the integration, we’ve adhered to the commitments made in our Open Letter to MSPs as we believe that actions speak louder than words. In the next phases of integration with ConnectWise, you’ll continue to see how we put partners first by emphasizing ease of use and billing, partner choice and flexibility, and strong technology and support capabilities that are dependable. I’m excited for what 2025 will bring as we continue on this path, and we greatly appreciate your partnership.
