Tell us about your company.

Cheeky Munkey provides IT services to clients in the UK, including some well-known US clients with UK-based offices. We provide end-to-end solutions for all technology needs, covering everything from fully managed IT, security, and cloud services to network infrastructure, consultancy, and more.

What’s a big win that you’re proud of?

We are very proud to have won the Community Giveback WISE Award, as we love supporting our community of peers and the wider community we live in. Aside from this, we have grown an incredible team who are truly passionate about technology and delivering great service.

We’ve also had the opportunity to establish wholesome connections with the wider community through networks such as IT Nation™, which has both enhanced our own business and enabled us to give back and support others.

What’s next for you and your business?

The next 12 months are all about continuing our team development journey and enabling us to deliver awesome service to our clients in a rapidly changing and challenging world.

About the industry

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing the industry?

Although the perception may be that AI and cyberthreats are our biggest challenge, I feel the bigger challenge is how we support our team’s mental health and well-being. We should not underestimate the impact and lasting effects of the pandemic and the ways in which employers can support their teams.

Is there one piece of advice you’d like to share with other IT solution providers?

For me, the most important thing, above all else, is your team. With the adaptation to hybrid and remote working, home and work are no longer separate. As business owners, we need to understand the needs of the team and create an environment where they feel valued and cared for, wherever they are working.

As part of my passion and commitment to supporting our local community, when I started the business, I set up a competition for a local college to choose our name. The winner was “Cheeky Munkey!” Not only has this memorable name helped us stand out amongst competitors, but it was the foundation of the fun, friendly, and welcoming business we are today.

What’s a country or state you’d like to visit?

Hawaii is on my wife’s bucket list, so I guess Hawaii!

What is one of your bucket list items?

To take my daughter, who has autism and is obsessed with Dr. Who, to meet Dr. Who and watch it being filmed.
